Fabrication & Processing

Seaboard® works just like wood — it can be sawn, drilled, routed, planed, and screwed using standard woodworking tools. Unlike wood, it will never rot, splinter, or require painting. Joints can be made using stainless steel fasteners or hot air welding.

Saw cutting — use standard woodworking blades
CNC routing — ideal for custom marine cabinetry
Drilling and screwing — holds screws well, no pre-drilling needed
Hot air welding — for structural joints in marine applications
Finishing — textured surface requires no painting or sealing

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Seaboard® be painted?+
Seaboard® comes in a range of colours and its textured surface does not require painting. However, if you wish to paint it, light sanding followed by a flexible marine paint will provide adhesion. Most customers prefer the maintenance-free natural finish.
Is Seaboard® suitable for structural applications?+
Seaboard® is suitable for semi-structural marine applications like cabinetry, shelving, and panels. For primary structural members (stringers, frames), marine-grade aluminium or fibreglass is recommended.
