Holland Plastics manufactures custom plastic wear strips for conveyors, chutes, hoppers and guides at our Gold Coast workshop. Cut and machined from premium UHMWPE, HDPE and nylon, our wear strips dramatically reduce friction, noise and maintenance compared to steel-on-steel contact — extending equipment life and lowering downtime.

We supply standard profiles and machine to your exact drawings, including counter-sunk fixing holes, chamfered edges and curved sections.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which material is best for wear strips?+
UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) is the gold standard for most conveyor and chute applications — it has the lowest coefficient of friction and the highest abrasion resistance of any thermoplastic. HDPE is a great cost-effective alternative for general-purpose wear, while nylon and acetal are preferred for loaded guides and precision components. Send us your application and we'll recommend the right grade.
Can you machine wear strips to my drawing?+
Yes — we routinely produce custom wear strips with counter-sunk fixing holes, chamfers, curves and tapers from your DXF, DWG, STEP or PDF files. Hand-drawn sketches are also welcome. Maximum length per piece is 3000mm; longer runs are supplied in jointed sections.
How long do plastic wear strips last?+
Service life depends on load, speed, temperature and the material being conveyed, but UHMWPE wear strips typically last 5–10 times longer than steel in abrasive bulk-handling applications. Many of our mining and food-industry customers report multi-year service from a single set. We can also supply replacement schedules for ongoing maintenance.
